The New York Yankees and New York Mets rivalry only got bigger after Juan Soto’s blockbuster move across town.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementAnytime Soto faces his former team, there are boos, and much more, and a recent comment from Yankees manager Aaron Boone added a little humor to the situation, as Boone suggested that Soto might still miss his time in the Bronx.
“I think it still bothers him,” Boone told Evan Roberts of WFAN.
The comment was clearly in a joking manner, but it shows just how significant Soto’s short stint with the Yankees was. During his one season with the team, the outfielder quickly became a fan favorite due to his talent.
His presence alongside Aaron Judge gave New York one of the most feared duos in baseball history.

Losing a generational hitter like Soto is never easy for a franchise, especially one with championship expectations every year, and even more so when the Yankees lose him to the Mets.
With Soto now starring for the Mets, the cross-town rivalry will only get bigger and bigger moving forward.
