New York Yankees reportedly have ‘likely’ decision on Jasson Dominguez ahead of Opening Day originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The New York Yankees have several roster decisions to figure out as Opening Day approaches, especially in the outfield. With veterans and young players competing for roles, the team looks prepared to give experience the edge early in the season while allowing some prospects additional time to develop.

According to Brendan Kuty of The Athletic, Dominguez appears likely to begin the season at Triple-A after losing his starting role at the big league level last season. The decision would allow the Yankees to keep evaluating their outfield while giving Domínguez the opportunity to figure it out offensively.
“Now, only Domínguez’s situation seems resolved, with the 23-year-old most likely heading to Triple A to start the season — barring injury — after the Yankees signed veteran Randal Grichuk to a minor-league deal in late February,” he wrote.
Dominguez, a young switch-hitter, has long been considered one of the most talented prospects in baseball history. However, he’s struggled on both sides of the baseball and others have stepped up when needed.
