The sweepstakes championship was determined by taking each team's top two highest scores.

The solos won both first place (Kensley Kling) and second place (captain Molly Kilgore).

Coaches Stevi Barrilleaux, Bailee Foncree and Allie Richard led the team.

"The team practices after school several days a week while maintaining strong academic performance and representing the school at community events during the year," Barrilleaux said in a news release.

The team also performs with the entire team for football games.

"Winning the American All Star Sweepstakes Champion National Title with my team has been one of my greatest accomplishments," Kilgore, a senior, said in the release. "I'm so grateful that I have had the opportunity to represent East Ascension and show other teams our passion, culture, talent and spirit through dance."
