The Spartans would ultimately defeat the Buckeyes, 4-3, with a 3-2 shootout win.
After 13 rounds of a shootout, very fitting to the game that the two teams played on Saturday night, it was defenseman Colin Ralph that proved to be the hero for the Spartans, scoring the all-important go ahead goal, paving the way for Trey Augustine to make the game sealing save.
