The Dolphins initiated a massive roster overhaul on Monday, releasing several high-profile veterans to clear significant cap space.
Now free agents and available to sign with any team, they could possibly reunite with their former head coach and now Chargers offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel.

Hill produced back-to-back 1,700-yard seasons under McDaniel in 2022 and 2023. On the downside, after suffering a significant knee injury, there is no telling when he will return or whether he will regain his speed, given the severity of it.
Guard James Daniels would provide much-needed versatility at guard and center. After signing a three-year, $24 million deal with the Dolphins last offseason, Daniels was expected to be a key piece of the offensive line. However, a pectoral injury after just three snaps ended his season. With durability being a valid concern given he has played only five total games over the last two seasons, Daniels could be a low-cost signing.
On the opposite side of the ball, edge rusher Bradley Chubb was let go by Miami. The Chargers' position room remains in flux with the uncertain futures of Khalil Mack and Odafe Oweh, so Chubb could be an option as a higher-end pass-rush option. Chubb recorded 8.5 sacks in 2025 despite recovering from injury. The 28-year-old is only a few seasons removed from his best (2023), when he recorded 70 quarterback pressures and 13 sacks.
